It is far from his biggest job anymore, but David Vitas remade all the sound effects for Monster RPG 2!

Ramon and his wife Danica… we worked on a number of games together, including Monster RPG 2… and what was a pretty incredible scrapped game that few ever saw and I don’t have anything related to anymore…

He is too humble… I’ve seen way more amazing stuff but here are some incredible paintings:

EDIT: BTW: Some of these were by Danica, and she’s the one I worked with on “Baryon” (codename) that was scrapped. That’s where AshEdit comes from. The name of the game was to be Ashes Fall.

EDIT2: Also BTW: Ramon made all the enemy sprites and character battle sprites and more in the game.

EDIT: To celebrate this great soundtrack, https://nooskewl.com/files/data.cpa is a Crystal Picnic data file using the SGM free soundfont (probably the best free soundfont there is…) It’s 260 MB instead of 10-12 MB compared to the retro soundfont.

EDIT2: tiles are not packed in the datafile correctly, I’ll fix it ASAP…

Is Tony, who I consider a friend… we worked closely on Monster RPG 2 and Crystal Picnic and more. In fact the characters in Crystal Picnic are based on his animations:

I used to be on IRC and for a few years, Matthew Smith (Jet Set Willy, Manic Miner…) was there. He made all (except the one really bad one I think… somehow it got missed, I take credit for that one) the battle backgrounds in Monster RPG 2 for me! Dan “Dasse” was only in the channel, because he’s the world’s biggest Matthew Smith fan (he has an enormous collection…)

Has to be Dan “Dasse”. A very prolific demo scener, and the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. He was the main composer on Monster RPG 2, and we worked on other games together too…

I had the pleasure to work with “Jonathan” on Bobby, he wrote the in-game music. These guys have multiple music-synced animations that blew my mind, and I was surprised that Jon did a track for me…

Pretty much… all the audio ports front and back are broken and the case won’t go back on because it’s bent. This happened a month or two ago… I still haven’t thrown it out but only because I haven’t gotten to it.

It was an i3 10th gen. Now I’ve replaced it with a i5 6th gen which can’t run Windows 11 so I’m running Windows 10 on my main machine now.

I have two other desktops and a laptop… one desktop has Windows 10 also and one has Debian 13, and the laptop has Windows 11.

The other desktop is better… i7 7th gen but my better video card doesn’t work in it so it’s in the 6th gen i5.

The 6th gen i5 has a RX 6400 and the i7 7th gen has a GT 1030.

I hate this RX 6400 in a way… it doesn’t seem to have any VGA hardware, so the whole boot process isn’t shown until (if) a graphical display mode is set like the login screen of Windows 10 (that’s the first thing I see…)

EDIT: There’s a glitch caused by one of the broken audio ports, so audio doesn’t work at all. It’s like a device keeping getting plugged and unplugged or something… sound will play for like 10 milliseconds or whatever and then the audio stream will stop. In Windows Media Player if I click play over and over, it sort of plays the song, screwed up.

I remember knowing at the time I’d never be the same!

I remembered being molested but not this incident!

I literally find Super Mario Bros. for NES stressful, that’s how bad it is. It’s literally the least stressful thing ever created.
